LE JARDIN DES PRINCESSES

This design accomplishes two goals. It is the ever sought after floral, but cleverly arranged in a stripe with a surprise. There are six large flower heads on a solid background. Each has their own unique stem, growing up, off of the flower, into the flower head above it. They are spilling onto the smaller stripe which is actually hundreds of reticulated tiny flowers with tiny dot centers. Because it is reticulated, you can see through to the background, which is in a different color than the large stripe's background. This concept is visualized in a famous brooch done by Castellani, an Italian jeweler. It is called the Millefiori brooch with putto and four birds.
